Resourcefulness
One thing that ties many of this year's Triangle artists together is their resourcefulness. They're only here for two weeks, so they have to work hard, and quickly, and in some cases are not so concerned with making an archival (permanent) object to be saved, since there are transportation complications when they leave. So they have been making use of all kinds of materials that they can recycle from the industrial surroundings. Here's Mexican artist Ricardo Rendon's holes (Rendon's art usually focuses on the repetitive actions/patterns of labor), and some sculptural objects by the Kenyan Michael Soi (which I showed you him working on in an earlier post).
